Message from Pastor Kelly:

The central point is this. We were made from love, with love, and the command to love. Regardless of our outward appearance and our flaws. The Spirit breathes in us the key to unlock these gifts to use for His kingdom.

We are each so different, tasked to use our uniqueness to bring together, work together, build together, worship together. Together, to gather for the Lord. We are of him, from him.

We cannot separate ourselves from those that are different. We must unwrap our gifts of the Spirit, reach out, serve, spread the gospel and do the work of Christ.

Jesus was revealed to all, for all. All because we are loved. We were each given great gifts to serve others in unique ways. To serve others in our gifted ways, to love others in all ways, is to truly reveal our Father.

Seek Him. Listen to Him and His breath upon your heart. What do you now, so naturally, easily that you could be doing for the Lord? How can you use these gifts without any prejudice or judgement upon your heart for all the children of God? Will you open your eyes to see everyone as God sees?

Today we are not together in body. I pray we are together in Spirit. May the Lord bring you safely with each other in worship next week. And may you grow to answer these questions as we explore and unwrap our gifts.

1 Corinthians 12:1-11 Isaiah 62:1-12 John 2:1-11

Prayer Service for a Way Forward

We are praying our way forward in the United Methodist Church as the Council of Bishops and delegates attend the Special General Conference February 23-26 in St. Louis, MO.  They are to receive and act on a report from the Commission on a Way Forward concerning human sexuality and exploring options to strengthen the unity of the church. (umc.org/topics/general-conference-2019-special-session)   The service is neutral and is using liturgy from the original service from 2017.  There will be no discussion on where you stand.   You are invited to come in Unity as the body of Christ.  Come with an open heart to petition the Lord to guide our churches to His will and not our own.  All are welcome who seek the power of the Holy Spirit in the direction of the United Methodist Church and for those attending the special conference. *If you have prayer strands, you are invited to wear them.  For additional information contact Pastor Kelly Kocher-Ross at 570-441-0765 or kkocher-ross@susumc.org.
